Nutritional Highlights
- Aspartame breaks down into formaldehyde once in the body. Aspartame is found in chewing gum and many sodas.
- Sodas (carbonated drinks full of sugar) DO NOT give your body water. Caffeinated beverages deplete water and calcium from your body.
- You cannot get all your nutrients just by eating a well-balanced diet due to the nutrient-depleted soil and the over processing of food. Eating organic foods gives you more nutrients. Supplementation is necessary to provide our bodies with the proper nutrients daily.
- After the age of 3, our body does not produce the enzyme to digest dairy milk.
- It is better to drink between meals than with meals. Drinking while eating dilutes the digestive fluids which causes less effective digestion of food.
Importance of Drinking Water
- A person needs to drink 8 - 8oz glasses of water per day, approximately 1 quart to keep the body hydrated.
- For those trying to lose weight, drink an extra 8oz glass of water for each extra 25 lbs of weight .
- Drinking caffeinated beverages removes water from your body, so you must replace the water by drinking an extra 8oz glass of water.
- For those who have fluid retention, your body is storing water in tissues because it has been dehydrated repeatedly and is protecting itself. To release excess fluid, you must drink at least 8 - 8oz glasses per day. Eventually the body will realize it is getting the water it needs and will release the stored fluids from the body.
